Ford Celebrates 75 years of the F- Series with the 2023 F-150 Heritage Edition!

Ford has been doing business for an awfully long time. The First Ford rolled out of the factory in 1903, and in the ensuing years, Ford has proven time and again their commitment to innovation, affordability, and competence, not just in their vehicles, but in everything they do, from the Model T to the five-day work week and the production line. It’s one of the reasons we’re proud to provide their vehicles to the Hill Country through Cecil Atkission Ford in Hondo.

So when the first Ford F-series truck rolled into the daylight nearly 75 years ago, it makes one wonder if the company knew what an impact the vehicle would have on the world. The Ford F-150 is the company’s best-selling vehicle for 35 years running and the America’s best-selling pickup truck for 40 solid years. That’s no accident. With the F-Series, Ford found the perfect mix of utility, practicality, versatility, and style. Since 1977, Ford has sold over 26 million Ford F-150s all over the world.

To celebrate the 75th anniversary of the F-Series, Ford is releasing a new-for 2023 version of the F-150, dubbed the Heritage Edition. This exclusive options package available on XLT-series trucks includes several exterior accents based on a classic two-tone paint scheme, with the roof and door pillars one color, the body another color, then the first color returning for the lower body, lower doors, and bumpers. The two-tone pattern recalls paint schemes from the 70s and 80s, but looks decidedly different on the modern F-150 with its aluminum body and wide stance.

The package continues on the interior with special seat trim covers with unique inserts, a “75 Years” logo on the upper windshield and center console, and an embossed console cover. There are five color/trim combinations available, each with its own unique look:

  • Race Red midsection, with upper and lower Carbonized Gray
  • Atlas Blue midsection, with upper and lower Agate Black
  • Antimatter Blue midsection, with upper and lower Carbonized Gray
  • Avalanche midsection, with upper and lower Agate Black
  • Area 51 midsection, with upper and lower Agate Black

Trust us when we say these modern paint colors look amazing in this two-tone style. With the Heritage Edition, you’re sure to stand out from the F-150 crowd.
