The 2022 Ford Bronco Raptor is a remarkable and dynamic vehicle with a robust twin-turbo V6 engine, a truckload of off-road gear, brash styling upgrades, and cleverly named exterior colors. This rock crawler is destined to become a star; a brash behemoth of roads and off-roads from Hondo to Hill Country and beyond as a source of awe, envy, and wonderment.
The 2022 Ford Bronco Raptor is a 4-door gargantuan on monster 37-inch tires underneath enormously flared fenders, and nearly 10 inches wider than a standard model. Distinctive amber LED running lights accent the Raptor’s blacked-out grille appointed with an oversized Ford logo. A full-size spare is fixed to the rear liftgate.
The Raptor Graphics package adds splatter graphics on the sides and hood. For 2022, two new colors, Hot Pepper Red Metallic and Eruption Green Metallic enter the Bronco line. The other exterior colors are Velocity Blue Metallic, Shadow Black, Iconic Silver Metallic, Area 51, Cactus Gray, Cyber Orange Metallic Tri-Coat, and Oxford White. Code Orange is a Bronco Raptor exclusive color.
The cabin of the 2022 Raptor is inviting and purposeful. The wide horizontal dash is equipped with a big and colorful 12-inch infotainment touch screen, attention-grabbing Bronco logo, and a digital gauge display. Black marine-grade vinyl upholstery is standard with rubberized washout flooring. Ford Performance standard front seats are exclusive to the Raptor. Orange-colored highlights lend color to the air vents, door netting, gear selector dial, and steering wheel stitching.
The twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 under the enormous hood produces more than 400 horsepower mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission with unique Ford Performance tuning. The Bronco Raptor has a real dual exhaust system with active valves to alter the sound based on drive mode: Normal, Sport, Quiet, and Baja. In Bronco-speak, the new Baja drive mode reduces turbo lag and helps maximize performance for high-speed desert runs to maintain its ‘GOAT’ – Goes Over Any Terrain – status. The Raptor also gets a Bronco-first tow/haul mode to enable up to 4,500 pounds of towing heft.
The 2022 Ford Bronco Raptor is kitted with Ford Performance 17-inch wheels wrapped in BFGoodrich 37-inch K02 tires. Beneath, Ford Performance front and rear control arms provide huge suspension travel of 13 inches up front and 14 inches in the rear. The standard Bronco’s High-Performance Off-road Stability is enhanced by 3.1 Internal Bypass Semi-Active Dampers with position-sensing capability. Sensors at each corner monitor and adjust suspension tuning hundreds of times per second.
The 2022 Ford Bronco Raptor comes with an array of driver and safety aids, from Pedestrian detection to Hill-start Assist, plus Automatic high-beam headlights, Post-collision braking, Automatic emergency braking, Forward-collision warning, and a rearview camera.
The 2022 Bronco Raptor comes standard with an incredible complement of technology such as a 360° camera system, Sync 4 infotainment software with over-the-air updates and advanced voice controls, and connections for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. A 10-speaker B&O audio system and adaptive cruise control can be added with the Lux package.
