2022 F-150 Lightning

The wait is over! The 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning has just been revealed and it is going to change the way we look at trucks forever.

This is a 100% electric-powered pickup truck. That’s right, fully electric. Don’t think you’re giving up power by dropping gas though. This bad boy is aiming to tow up to 10,000 lbs. when it launches. 10,000 pounds on electric motors! That’s plenty for boats, RVs, trailers, or whatever else you need moved. It can also carry up to 2,000 pounds in the bed, so it’s great for weekend projects. Here’s where things really get fun. If you haven’t driven an electric vehicle before, you’re in for a treat. The electric motors give it unbelievable torque, 775 pound-feet to be exact, and 563 horsepower, so the F-150 Lightning is ready to shoot off the line!

Did you notice that I said motors earlier? That’s because the 2022 F-150 Lightning is propelled by two electric motors, one for the front wheels and one for the back. This advanced all-wheel-drive system allows for better handling and performance in any condition. Road trips are definitely possible with up to 230 miles available on a single battery charge, or upgrade to the extended battery for up to 300 miles. Once you reach your destination you won’t need to worry about powering your devices, since the F-150 Lightning has 11 power outlets to power lights, equipment, or whatever else you need. It can even power your house! That’s right, if the lights go out, your F-150 Lightning can serve as a backup generator for your house for up to 10 days if you ration properly!

All of that power and capability is paired with some pretty incredible technology. Like the available BlueCruise system. This revolutionary feature can actually drive for you on select stretches of highway known as Hands-Free Blue Zones*. You’ll also enjoy the available Phone as a Key feature, which lets you access your 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning right from your smartphone. Plus, Intelligent Range will keep you up to date on how far your battery charge can take you. It actively accounts for factors like weather, route, grade, traffic, and payload to accurately calculate how much range you have left on your battery.

*Driver-assist features are supplemental and do not replace the driver’s attention, judgment and need to control the vehicle. BlueCruise is a hands-free highway driving feature. Only remove hands from the steering wheel when in a Hands-Free Blue Zone. Always watch the road and be prepared to resume control of the vehicle. It does not replace safe driving. See Owner’s manual for details and limitations.
