Calling all artists! Put your creativity to the test at the Dia De Los Muertos Altar-Making Contest on Saturday, October 29th at the City of Hondo Community Center. Contest entry forms can be picked up at the Rick Taylor Recreation Center. The contest is first-come, first-served, and space is limited. Don’t wait, This is one Hondo Halloween event that you don’t want to miss!
Cemetery 5K
Get your ghostly kicks while you get a workout at the Cemetery 5K Fun Run/Walk presented by the Hondo Public Library and the Hondo Parks & Rec Department. Starting at the train depot, this festive route runs right through the Hondo Cemetery and is sure to be a great time for athletes of all ages. The race will take place at 5:30 pm on Saturday, October 29th with a special performance by the Alma Gitana Dance Company shortly before the race begins.
Trunk-or-Treat
A fun time for the whole family, there are a variety of Trunk-or-Treat Events this year from here to San Antonio. Gather up your ghostly gang and enjoy a spook-tacular night filled with candy, food, fun, and more! The Trunk-or-Treats will be held starting the weekend of the 22nd through Halloween weekend.
